Association for Independent Media Culture (AIMC) – The primary project of the organization is a portal H-Alter (www.h-alter.org), as an answer of Association members to dominant trends of media space commercialization. The overall goal of the organization is to create the space for exchange and cooperation between the civil society organizations and to increase visibility, enhance their influence and connect them to the public sphere. AIMC’s internet news portal H-Alter regularly informs the broader public about civil society initiatives, programs and activities and connects them into mutually informed, sustainable network. Being the leading informative media of civil society, H-Alter became the main source of information for public officials, as well as other public and commercial media which regularly syndicate information and other contents from H-Alter. It is important to stress that beside information and contents of other CSO-s, H-Alter produces about 60 percentage of its own content, covering themes and issues important for development of civil society.

Logo of the Association for Self Advocacy,Association for Self Advocacy was established with the aim of improving the situation of people with intellectual disabilities in Croatia, notably the creation of a society where people with disabilities are equal citizens. Accordingly, organization strives to provide the highest possible level of normalization of life for people with intellectual disabilities through their involvement and participation in the life of society and local communities. In order to achieve these goals a series of activities has been conducted which have the purpose of raising awareness about the rights of persons with                   disabilities and which are oriented to self-empowerment and involvement of organization members in decision-making about their own lives.

As an informal group associated with various LGBT and allied organizations it operates since 2002. From 2008 Zagreb Pride Association is registered as an NGO. The objectives of the Association are the achievement of free, democratic, secular, emancipated civil society that embodies fundamental values of freedom, peace, nonviolence, individuality, justice, gender equality, tolerance, freedom of speech, freedom of thought, and the preservation, promotion and acceptance of diversity, freedom of expression and the right to self-identification and self-definiton.

Logo of the FRANAK Association.Association FRANAK was established to promote, improve and fulfill the rights of borrowers from commercial banks in accordance with the legal regulations of the Croatia and the EU acquis.
The objectives of the Association are: protection of citizens’ rights, who are borrowers of credits with currency clause and floating rates contracted at commercial banks in Croatia; advocating for the adoption of a legal framework that would legally prevent the bringing of borrowers in a difficult financial material position; advocating for an urgent legislative introduction of a personal bankruptcy;
a commitment to clear and transparent explanation of procedures of banks that operate in altering business conditions and have variable costs of their services; the fight against the practice of frequent and non-transparent changing rate / annuity to credit borrowers; realization of just relations between commercial banks and borrowers, which would ultimately lead to easier repayment of loans, and reduced the share of “bad loans” to commercial banks.

They consider that the gender equality is basic for every democracy system and that the state which does not assure equal rights of women and minorities, can not define itself as democratic. Organization BaBe! is very active on the Croatian civil scene and colaborates with numerous other human rights and ecological organizations of civil society.

logo of the CESI – Center for Education, Counseling and Research.CESI – Center for Education, Counseling and Research is feminist organization that advocates for advancement of women in Croatian society and realization of gender equality, and for full implementation of all laws and international mechanisms for the protection of human rights. Development of civil society organization perceives as important precondition for development of democratic society. CESI is established on 1997 – International Women’s Day, in response to problems of the violation of human rights, in particular women’s and minority rights, nationalism, militarisation, and the deterioration of economic standards in the post-war period.

It was established  by activists from Zagreb and Rijeka because of the need to confront discrimination and violence against LGBT people. They principles are: transparency, openness, accessibility, anti-authoritarianism, benefit of the LGBT community and credibility before the LGBT community.

Logo of the CENZURA PLUS.CENZURA PLUS is a non-profit, civil society organization from Split that promotes human rights, media freedoms and works on the development of civil society, through methods of independent media (TV) production, out-institutional education and public advocacy, with the aim of building modern, democratic and fair society in Croatia. Cenzura Plus was established in 2003., by a group of human-rights activists and it arise from history and experience of producing the first independent TV show that explored limitation of media freedoms in post-war Croatia, since mid 1990es. Since then Cenzura Plus remains unique and recognized in Croatia and in the Region of Western Balkans for its non-profit TV production, of one 1-hour long TV show weekly, that deals with broader range of human rights issues, democratization and civil society status in Croatia.

Its activities are determind by established goals, but the concrete work was very often influenced by the number and gravity of human rights violation in specific period. Goals of the organization are protection and promotion of individul human rights, improvement of the standard of human rights and civil liberties in Croatia and in region, building an open democratic society directed toward peace and colaboration, decrease of political violence, ethnic hate and xenophobia in Croatia and region, and removing war as an option for resolving conflicts between civilized states.

In their endeavor to initiate the process of dealing with the past and the establishment of a factual truth about the war and contribution to shifting discussions from the level of disputes over facts (number of fatalities and similar) toward a dialogue on interpretations, the Centre for Peace, Nonviolence and Human Rights Osijek, Centre for Peace Studies, Civic Council for Human Rights and the Croatian Helsinki Committee decided to found Documenta – Centre for Dealing with the Past. Documenta activates the process of dealing with the past in Croatia, documents and investigates actions before, during and after war and colaborates with civil society organizations, governmental institutions and similar centres abroad.

Lesbian Group Kontra is a non-governmental organization that promotes lesbian human rights. It was founded in 1997, in Zagreb. Kontra operates according to feminist and anti-militaristic principles, and opposes all forms of discrimination. Kontra considers the right to different sexual orientations to be one of basic human rights. It advocates elimination of all forms of violence and discrimination against lesbians, bisexual women and discrimination based on other sexual orientations, gender identities and gender expressions. Organization’s mission is: Provide support and empowerment of lesbians and bisexual women in seeking acceptance of their identity; Work on accomplishing social visibility, or coming out of anonymity and isolation for the purpose of sensitizing the society and reducing homo/bi/transphobia; Pleading for rights of other sexual/gender minorities (gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex and queer persons); Advocating changes in legislature, which would result in equal rights for lesbians and other sexual/gender minorities parallel to those of heterosexuals; Cooperation with other lesbian and LGBTIQ groups from Croatia, the countries of former Yugoslavia, and throughout the world.

Logo of the OWID.Organization for Workers’ Initiative and Democratization (OWID) is dedicated to the protection and promotion of workers’ rights, democratic decision-making processes and economic democracy among the workers. Logo of the Roda.RODA is an acronym for Roditelji u akciji, or Parents in Action.  Roda was founded in 2001 and from its foundation to the present in its projects and programs, ad-hoc activities and lobbying for parental and children’s rights Roda has influenced positive changes in public opinion as well as changes within institutions:  the creation of infrastructure and legal frameworks for changing outdated practices. In its work Roda has become an important stakeholder in the Republic of Croatia in the areas of rights to adequate maternal leave compensation and right to maternal leave, medically assisted conception, pregnancy and improving birthing conditions, breastfeeding promotion, education and counselling, education and support for parents and future parents and child traffic safety. Roda’s mission is to change society into a society that acts responsibly towards children, parents, future parents and families – through information, education, active lobbying and inclusion in the processes of change, as well as encouraging parents and other societal groups to question the status quo and be part of change.

MMH gathers national and local non-governmental youth organizations in the Republic of Croatia which have voluntarily joined the Network.
